About Our Treatment Courses
At MindSpot we offer treatment courses for people with symptoms of anxiety and depression. Our courses are based on well-tested principles of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which has been widely shown to be the most effective treatment for reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. Treatment courses used at the MindSpot Clinic were developed and successfully tested at the eCentreClinic, Macquarie University, Sydney, in clinical trials with thousands of people from across Australia.
All of the courses we offer at MindSpot follow the same general structure. Each course contains a mixture of educational and practical exercises combined with regular contact with a MindSpot therapist. The key advantages of MindSpot Courses is that they allow you to get help in a discreet, effective and supported way.
Managing symptoms of anxiety and depression requires hard work and commitment. Our courses are designed to make this process as easy as possible, providing you with 5 lessons over an 8 week period to help you develop the skills to manage your symptoms.
A Typical MindSpot Lesson
Each lesson in a MindSpot Course will require you to complete four key activities that will help you increase your knowledge and build practical skills.
1. Read A Lesson
Lessons are a series of slides based on a specific topic for that week. By understanding your condition and building your knowledge, your confidence will grow.
2. Practical Skills
After reading a lesson, download the Do It Yourself Guide. These contain simple tasks that are designed to help you recognise your symptoms, challenge thoughts and build better physical and mental habits in your day to day life
3. Real Life Stories
We provide real life examples, giving you a glimpse into how people from all walks of life learn to overcome their symptoms.
4. Talk with Us
Finally, you can choose to receive weekly support from a trained MindSpot Clinic therapist or you can choose to contact them when needed. Your therapist will check on your progress, answer questions, provide support, and help you get the most out of treatment.
What Will I Learn?
You will learn to understand your symptoms of anxiety or depression and the cycles which keep those symptoms going. We expect that you will finish a course armed with many practical and effective strategies. We want to help you learn core psychological and practical skills that you can use over and over again, and which will help you to stay well in the long term.
