Clinical Registrar Program

Our vision is to build an emotionally resilient world, through educating a world class workforce of mental health clinicians

About the Clinical Registar Program

We employ and train Registered Psychologists, who are completing their Clinical Psychology Registrar program to gain endorsement in Clinical Psychology. As a pioneer in digital mental health training, MindSpot provides significant development opportunities and a highly supportive environment to develop clinical knowledge, skills and experience. All of our training is valuable for clinicians planning a career in both digital or face-to-face clinical services, equipping you to work with a wide range of presentations.

It is an environment where I have felt very supported in developing my skills as a therapist, with on-site supervision being a very unique and useful resource.

As part of your role you will conduct:

    • Clinical assessments
    • Provide referrals
    • Treat patients from across Australia.

You will receive:

    • Full-time salaried employment
    • Supervision and training, at no cost to you
    • CPD opportunities, to meet the requirements of your program.

About you

Our program is ideally suited to graduates of a Masters of Clinical Psychology program looking to complete their registrar program to attain endorsement in Clinical Psychology.

You will have placement experience during your studies where you used micro counselling skills, and theoretical knowledge of CBT; or are new to delivering CBT and wish to improve your clinical confidence and competence.

FAQs

Yes. Responsibilities of the role allows you to meet all the hour requirements and competencies required for General Registration. Some people question whether carrying out psychological work online and over the phone is considered psychological practice by the Psychology Board. The role as been acknowledged to be 100% psychological in nature for all of our past interns. You don’t need to worry about finding a secondary employment, external supervision or training.
We believe that you should focus on developing your knowledge, skills and abilities during your program rather than worrying about other issues related to your internship. We think that having a stable and paid employment with a structured, supportive practice environment that meets all the Psychology Board requirements meets this goal. We hope that this program will support you to become good psychologists who will create a positive influence to society.
Our board-approved supervisors are senior psychologists who also hold various clinical and research roles at MindSpot.

How do I apply?

Entry to the registration learning pathway is dependent on gaining employment with MindSpot. Our capacity to provide supervision and training is limited so this is a competitive process based on merit.
